This should
be a very interesting game, Arsenal, fresh from an emphatic
Champions legue win away in Roma 1-3, come up against an
Aston Villa side which has started to find the net, winning
their last game 4-1, and has an excellent defence.
Arseanl
are now well and truly over their dodgy spell a month or
so and are now back to thier best form. Thierry Henry was
magnificient in midweek, scoring a hatrick and Arsenal have
won 5 out of their last 6 home games. Confidence in the
camp is high, with strikers Henry and Wiltord sharing 15
goals between them in the league already.
They are
also boosted by the news that defender Martin Keown is nearly
back to fitness after coming through a reserve game midweek.
Aston Villa, are also in a good run of form, and they are
unbeaten away in their last three games. Their miserly defence
has only conceded 7 goals away, which is better than Arsenal
or Liverpools away record. They have also started to score
goals, with Dion Dublin and Lee Hendrie chipping in with
a few goals apiece.
The stat
to note, however, is that Villa have only scored 1 goal
away all season, and Highbury is not the place where they
will be scoring a hatful of goals. I cannot see further
than a home win here. the Villa defence is excelent and
well organised, led by Olaf Mellberg and it may take some
time for Arsenal to score but the way they (Henry especially)
are playing you would be foolish to bet against the Gunners.
Home win. High Stake
