Im going
for an away win here - Liverpool lost at home last week
to Chelsea and another defeat would be a disastrous start
for them. Michael Owen scored in the first Premiership
game and also scored for England midweek - I feel the
Reds have too much firepower. Villa lost disappointingly
to Portsmouth last week and their defence did not look
solid -
Gareth Barry
being sent off. Heskey and Owen, and not forgetting Harry
Kewell, should have too much for a Villa side that are
still rebuilding under David O'Leary. Away win @6/5
That cost him dear, because although
he flew at the death, and was Probably in front a Stride
after the line, he had to Settle for second The Epsom
idea was even tualjy scrapped and Scorpion was not one
of the four-pronged Ballydoyle conti~ gent to go for the
Derby Instead, he went for the French equivalent the following
day, a race which had been Shortened for the first time
to lni2f.
Sumce to Say the French experience just didn’t work
out.
There was no pace in the race,
with Franjie Detton riding a canny ‘waiting in front’
race on Shamardal and ScorPion never looked likely to
get involved at any stage. A line can be safely drawn
through that effort, a point he proved in the Irish Derby
He is by Arc winner Montjeu who
is currently sweeping all before him with the likes of
Motivator and the aforementioned Hurricane Run.
