the high class irish hurdler accordion etoile is been targeted at the arkle chase at the festival,i would have thought this improveing hurdler would have been allowed another crack at the champion hurdle ,as for a horse with little experience at the highest level he ran a cracker in the 2005 champion hurdle, any thoughts anyone.

I`ve noticed jimnast that Accordion Etoile will run in the 2 mile hurdle at Tipperary on 2nd October. Apparently Intersky Falcon is due to run, and I`d imagine Harchibald will run to. I wouldn`t be at all surprised that if Accordion Etoile won this well, then connections may change their minds and keep him over hurdles.

The announcement that he`ll go chasing could be a tactic to force the hands of Brave Inca & Macs Joy`s connections. I believe all 3 would make good chasers, but all have chances of winning the Champion Hurdle as well.

Robertw21 you are absolutely right ! I am saying I think they will make good chasers, but we won`t know for definite until they jump their first fences in public. Horses such as Pizarro & Made In Japan are in my opinion ones which should be reverted back to hurdles, as neither are as good over fences as what they were over hurdles.

A high class beast on good or better ground. If they are to go over fences i would imagine he will have to make his chase debut soon while the ground is ok, a couple of runs in Sept/Oct and then the 2 mile novice at Paddy Power meeting and put away for Arkle. He's a lovely looking horse who should be athletic enough to jump fences at speed but we wont know for sure until we see ourselves.
i was lucky that day i was intending laying it ,but if you remember harchibald had franked the form about 1/2 hour before by toying with macs joy and back in front at punchestown, harchibald had finished 25l behind accordian etoile at tipperary the time before,so i did a twirl at back it myself,if the irish race was after the cheltenham race ide have done my money.

Who are the perceived threats to Accordion Etoile??
Brave Inca will take a lot of beating if his jumping his up to scratch.
Justified and The Railway Man are interesting from these shores as well.
