After securing an unlikely win last Sunday in the European
Grand Prix last week, Fernando Alonso has now been cut to
4/11 to win the F1 Championship. He was extremely lucky that
day, with Kimi Raikkonen looking to secure the points until
having a nightmare with a tyre and crashing out in
spectacular fashion on the penultimate lap.
For the backers and layers, there was money to be won,
with Raikkonen as low as 1/20 In-Play, with Alonso available
at 25/1.
Raikkonen is now a massive 32 points behind Fernando
Alonso, and is now a2/1 chance to claim the Championship. Of
course we cannot right off the legend that is Michael
Schumacher, but he has it all to do, being 43 points adrift.
The German is a long 25/1 to stage a remarkable fightback
and win the Championship.
Looking ahead to this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix,
Raikkonen is 13/8 to right his wrongs of last week and win
the grand prix. Alonso is a nice price of 5/2. l
