Charlton v Southampton
I was by the horse after
he was led into 2nd spot at Lingfield. The thoughts at the
time were that they were very happy with him, and that (at
the time) he was spot on for the Sun Alliance. It was felt
that Ollie had stopped doing anything on his own in front
and needed company now (good news if u want a fancy GC price
cos they rarely make all and win).
He cut it in the Henessy last year and there is no reason to
suspect he won't cope next season. Mr Twiston-Davies is the
factor that slightly puts me off as he failed to get his big
guns to the start last season but maybe it was just bad luck
and it wasn't his year.
Must have a chance as there are still very few genuine
contenders for the big one
Agree about Twiston-Davies being a concern.
Having seen the guy with some of his very annoying friends
the night before the gold cup he seems like a bit.
Wouldn't want him training my beast that's for sure.
Although previous good horses show he's not totally
incompetant so worth chancing imo. Although if Trabolgan
sorts out his jumping I expect a very big challenge from him
next season. To recover from that mistake at the second last
and romp past comply or die, who is to be fair not great but
still useful at the top level, looks to be very impressive.
Stop it Johnny - you will have me in tears again. I took
33-1 about Trabolgan 4 days before the Feltham at Kempton,
and told a couple of the lads that he was a class act and
well overpriced. He went 12-1 after that class finish on
Boxing Day, and it has been one of the highlights of my ante
post career.
Add that to 5-1 Moscow Flyer and 20-1 Missed That, ante post
and Wednesday was a CRACKING day at the 05 Festival !!
Had to get that off my chest as 06 will probably be a
disaster !!
