Clayton are well in the hunt not only for promotion but championshiP
honours in Division Five, and I’m sorry to say that the
poor old Doves are on a hiding to nothing.
Having recently lost experienced goalkeeper Brad Zeally, an already
stretched defence will struggle to hold Clayton who have plenty
of capable ammunition ready to beflred off.
Should the Doves defence be penetrated early a six plus goal performance
may well be the outcome.
Another leading contender in the Division is Mooroolbark.
The Barkers entertain an inconsistent Sandringham City, who have
the capacity to mix it with the best when completely switched
on.
As useful as they are in getting an immediate handle on a
subject, such as batting or bowling averages in cricket or goal
totals in football, averages can, when applied wrongly, be
equally unhelpful from a betting perspective. Using our coin
toss example, we can expect to win, on average, 50% of the time
taking either side of the coin and, on average, expect to break
even at even money. Unfortunately, this isn’t quite how it works
in reality. The easiest way to demonstrate this is by tossing
our coin 1,000 times and observing the fact that it is extremely
unlikely that having done so, we’ll have had exactly 500 heads
and 500 tails.
