Chelsea v Man City
Djokovic won an amazing game in five sets. He collapsed in
the decider through a combination of cramp and sheer
exhaustion, but still managed to win therough.
Starace lost a tie break that would have took the match into
a deciding fifth set.
I certainly got my money's worth in them two games and
showed a small profit.
In the other bet I have three winners and as I type Rochus
has lost the third set after winning the first. He's down
2-1.
Bank stands at 153 with the trebles and acca not settled
yet.
British interest has faded already today with Henman &
Rusedski already out today, so all eyes are on young Scot
Andrew Murray.
He takes on Romanian, Andrei Pavel and I fancy the British
youngster to progress.
I managed to get on @ 1.76 earlier today. He's now trading @
1.66 but you can still get 8/11 with A quite couple of days
on the football front, but the US Open tennis is getting
towards the business end.
I've backed a player @ 66/1 this year and he has the chance
to progress into the last 8 tonight and I fully expect hi to
do so.
His name is Robby Ginepri and he plays young French star
Richard Gasquet tonight.
Ginepri has some good recent hard court form whilst Gasguet
has had a tough few rounds, including two 5 setters.
I managed to get on at 4/7 this morning, but many firms have
cut him to 4/9 - 2/5.
There is still a little 1/2 knocking about though.
Bet: 8 pts Ginepri to beat Gasquet @ 1/2. Same format as the
last few weeks - Two bankers + three other teams.
First banker, and this isn't quite an obvious one,
Newcastle. A side that has yet to win or even score a goal.
But that should all change today. The signing of Owen &
Solano (though he's suspended today) should give the Toon
Army a huge boost and if they can't beat an average Fulhan
side today then they really do have problems.
Despite not winning yet they performed well against both
Arsenal & Man Utd.
Fulham's sole win was against Everton and have suffered
defeats on the road to both Blackburn and heavily to
Arsenal.
Newcastle are generally priced @ 8/13
Second banker is Leeds. They have a 100% home record and go
into todays game on the back of a 1-0 win at Norwich & 4
consecutive clean sheets.
Brighton have just one win in 7 in all competitions, and
that was against out of form Plymouth.
Leeds are priced around the 8/13 mark.
Bet: 5 pts double Newcastle/Leeds pays 2.61 qith Sky & 365
