The recently introduced event was upgraded to a Grade One race last year and has the likes of Black Jack Ketchum and Wichita Lineman listed as winners in its short, but illustrious life. Paul Nolan's Alpha Ridge has been improving all season and may be overpriced for this event.
I don't think this is all that strong a race and my personal fancy is for BENSALEM (King really is strong in the novice hurdle department this Festival) but feel he is correctly priced. I know his trainer feels he would beat Diamond Harry if they met again and he already has him marked down for next season's RSA Chase.
Connections of the most fancied Irish challenger ALPHA RIDGE have been giving warnings he may not run if the ground is not soft enough so better wait until non-runner no-bet if you fancy him but TARABLAZE is an intended runner after his win at Haydock as is the runner-up in that event THETWINCAMDRIFT for Alan King acting as a back-up runner to Bensalem who he says will be doing all his best work in the closing stages.
