Euro
2008 is one of football's biggest soccer tournaments, and
this year it is hosted by Austria and Switzerland. It begins
on 7th June and runs to 29th June 2008, and will bring
together Europe's finest teams together to play for the new
Henri Delaunay Trophy.
Although England did not qualify for this years
tournament, it promises to be an exciting competition and
here at freebetshere.com towers we are hoping for a football
extravaganza! Of course, the bookmakers have issued a number
of free bets and offers on the tournament, and we will have
more details of these closer to the start of the
competition. There are certainly a number of markets for you
to bet on - if you fancy betting on the eventual winner of
the tournament, then Germany head the betting, although at
4/1 they do look a little short.
Second favourites are Spain
at 6.1 while the World Cup Champions Italy are 7/1. Those
looking for a little more value may like the look of
England's conquerors Croatia at a best priced 14/1, while
Sweden look a tad overpriced with the return of Henrik
Larsson at 33/1 to lift the trophy. If the outright winner is not your thing, then the
majority of bookmakers have group betting, who will reach
the finals, and a more popular market is who will be the
Euro 2008 top goal scorer. Liverpool hitman Fernando Torres
and Christiano Ronaldo head the market at around 10/1
apiece, while Germany's Miroslav Klose is around 11/1. Italy
are represented by Bayern Munich's hitman Luca Toni at 14/1,
while those looking for a little more value may opt for Lyon
and France star Benzema at 33/1.
There are some old
favourites in there too, with Filipo Inzaghi at a tempting
40/1, Michael Ballack at 50/1 and Sweden's Larsson at 66/1,
while Holland's Dirk Kuyt does look a little generous at a
whopping 100/1.
