Betting Preview : France v Switzerland
France just need a draw here to go through and Switzerland
are out of the tournament. With two edgy performances
against England and Croatia then France will want to prove
themselves here with a good win. Switzerland have vowed
to restore their tarnished reputation by pulling off an
unexpected victory in their final Euro 2004 Group B match
against champions France today.
Beset by poor form and disciplinary problems that have
affected their image on and off the pitch, coach Koebi
Kuhn's players believe they have to show pride and passion
if they are to snatch an unlikely place in the quarter-finals
Against Croatia, France were not careful, giving away
a poor goal and a penalty. They should have won, but definitely
showed that they are the most attacking team in the tournament.
Captain Marcel Desailly had a calamitous performance on
Thursday and is almost certain to return to the bench,
while midfielders Olivier Dacourt and Sylvain Wiltord,
who looked rusty, should make way for Claude Makelele
and Robert Pires.
The team isnt at its best now, he
said after Thursdays 2-2 draw with Croatia. Id
say were at about 80 per cent but were improving
swiftly. The more it goes on the better we feel.
Zidane is on excellent form and it's hard to see him
not having another excellent game here against the Swiss.
Switzerland hurried England well in their last game
and the 3-0 loss scoreline probably was not that fair
on them. However, Switzerland had no shots on target
during that game, so it's hard to see them scoring here
against a good French side.
Betting Verdict : This one should be an easy French
win and will see them top the group.
