SWEDEN
Sweden won their qualifying group but understrength sides have
faltered in recent friendlies, although they did draw with Portugal
2-2.
Henrik Larsson has been named in Sweden's 23-man squad for
Euro 2004 after the prolific Celtic striker reversed his decision
to retire from international soccer. Andreas Andersson is
injured and only Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in consistent form.
Form 3/5
BULGARIA
The bright young Bulgaria side qualified as group winners and
the two Petrovs are expected to recover from injuries sustained
in the 3-0 win over Cameroon. Bulgaria coach Plamen Markov has
excluded defender Radostin Kishishev from his 23-man squad named
on Wednesday for next month's European championship.
Form 3/5
DENMARK
Denmark have been inconsistant recently, beating Scotland 1-0
but losing to Spain 2-0. The national press has lambasted Denmark
for recent defensive weakness and they will not be helped by
the absence of Kasper Bogelund.
Rangers' forward Peter Lovenkrands is also a doubt but they
have quality up front and have been solid in the build-up.
Form 4/5
ITALY
After finishing second in Euro 2000, Italy hope to go one better
and have looked good in their warm-ups. AC Milan striker Filippo
Inzaghi was left out of the 23-man Italy squad for a Euro 2004
training camp because coach Giovanni Trapattoni wanted to include
as few players recovering from injury as possible. Inzaghi,
who got a hat-trick in the win over Wales that played a major
role in ensuring Italy qualified for the tournament, missed
the end of the season with an ankle injury.
Roberto Baggio, 37, featured in the 1-1 draw with Spain but
insists he does not want to be considered and a lack of natural
wingers is their one weakness. Form 4/5
