What can
you say about Everton at the minute?. They have won their
last 5 games, and have an excellent home record, having
taken 14 points from 18. West Brom are bottom of the league,
and have only taken 4 points from 21 away. Everton come
into this game after an impresive away win at Blackburn,
while West Brom boss Gary Megson has already admitted that
'they dont have the class' to stay in the Premiership after
a dull 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.
With the
stats stacked so heavily against them, you cannot see any
further than a home win here. The Toffees are flying, with
the front pairing of Kevin Campbell and Thomas Radzinski
on fire. They have already scored 12 goals between them in
the league. The Everton defensive problems of old are now
in the distant past as they have only conceded 5 at home.
They are led by David Weir, Alan Stubbs and the excellent
loan signing Joseph Yobo, while keeper Richard Wright was
excellent against Blackburn. Of course, they have Wayne
Rooney on the bench if they need him. West Brom have only
taken 1 point out of a possible 12 away, and they simply
do not have the firepower to cause Everton any problems
at the back. Strikers Jason Roberts and Scott Dobie have
only scored 5 goals between them all season, while they
have conceded 13 goals away already. The Everton run will
come to an end at some point, but I dont think this will
be the one. There may be some pressure at the start as they
will now be expected to win easily. The crowd may become
impatient if it is still 0-0 after 30 minutes, but I just
cant see this happening. Everton home win. High stake.
