FOOTBALL
FA Cup Fourth Round

Southampton v Portsmouth
Sa Jan 29 – 12.45 ko BST (BBC1)

Chelsea v Arsenal
Sa Jan 29 – 17.20 ko BST (BBC1)
The FA Cup throws up some interesting clashes this weekend, but it is difficult to envisage defeat for the big three teams, who were all given easy home ties when the draw was made. Of the three, United look to have the hardest task against Boro, but there is still little reason to oppose them. United have not conceded in six domestic Cup ties, a run that includes games against Chelsea and Arsenal, while the days are gone when they gave up on this competition. Boro's record against the big four teams this season is poor – just two points from seven games – including a New Years Day 2-0 defeat to United at the Riverside. A repeat of that scoreline would be no surprise at 11/2. The game is live on the BBC (ko 17.20), as is the Southampton v Portsmouth clash (12.45 ko), which also looks a close tie on paper. The reality could be different, however, as the Saints are coming into this on the back of a confidence boosting win over Liverpool, and are unbeaten at home since September.

Suggestion: An accumulator on United @ 4/9, Southampton @ 5/4, Arsenal @ 1/6 and Chelsea @ 1/4 - pays out £118.40 to a £25 stake.

After kick off, Bet365 will be betting both games In-Play to a reduced margin of 107% on up to twelve In-Play markets, including: Match Betting; Next Goalscorer; Over/Under Goals; Team Not To Win; Correct Score; Next Goal; Total Corners; Total Bookings; Next Card; Team To Score Next Penalty; Asian Handicap; and Goal Line.

My advice to back Tottenham at 20/1 antepost for the FA Cup (now 14/1) still looks a fair bet, despite the prospect of a tricky tie at the Hawthorns. Martin Jols men, have had a couple of setbacks recently, so could be excused for playing a canny game on Saturday. With that in mind, the draw looks a sensible bet at 9/4, before they trounce the Midlanders back at White Hart Lane!
