Champ Hrd, IMO Harchibold has shown in the last two visits to the centre of the universe that is Prestbury Park, that he does not posses the resolution to win a champion hurdle, whilst i would be willing to chance him at a price in most grade A races run in the calender I would be a laying him again in the CH at Cheltenham 2006.This race more than any other 2m hurdle is a test of courage, speed ,stamina and character, I believe that this horse only possesses two of these charicteristics. In his favour is his profile in respect of this races statistics / trends. Many horses placed in a CH have gone on to win the following year, his age is ideal and he undoubtably has the high cruising speed required. On balance i would be willing to take him on. I would be against this one in the GC,as stated the SA he won was a poor renewal, alright he could do no more than win but his overall profile is not that of a horse likely to progress into a GC winner. The raining champ Kicking King cannot be opposed as we type imo, but i will be watching the progress of the previously mentioned Ashley Brook, he could be very special i just hope he is as effective on g/f and stiff track as imo his diplay at Aintree was relatively speaking as good as the great Moscow Flyers the previous day.

Arkle- front runners at cheltenham  don't have a great record alright but the stayers looks like it could be weak and I'm not yet convinced of Inglis drever. Baracouda won't win, Iris may stick with fences, rhinestone may never be the same, brave inca will probably go champion route and wylie rarely runs two of his in the same race so no refugee prob won't turn up. Leaves the mare a reasonably priced 16/1 shot at this time of year. Not going to back it yet but might do come Autumn. They probably will aim ashley at one of the championship races even though he has very little chance.
