Anthony, who at one time, had a commanding lead over the
field has finally blown his chances. Last nights show was
not just poor for him, in fact it was a complete disaster.
Whatever anyone thinks of Craig, a “mate” deserves support
when wrongly accused. Craig’s distress in the diary room
highlighted perhaps the only time he has been truly
justified in his disagreements with Anthony. Anthony’s
choice of timing to stand firm against Craig’s obvious
obsession is ill judged and his hatred of Craig is obvious
from his facial expressions. Yet he comes back for more!.
Anyone who actually believes that Anthony will secure the
vote of Craig’s fans after that showing needs to sit down
and think about it long and hard.
Anthony’s burger moment in the garden, where he is seen
chomping with open mouth and taunting the imprisoned Makosi,
should rightly have left a bad taste in his mouth, as it did
for many viewers. Luckily for Anthony they did not show him
accepting the Judas beer, but the commentary was almost as
effective in condemning him. The contrast was blatantly
obvious when all of Eugene’s diary room refusal to allow the
now chilled Makosi to remain in the cage, was shown. Was he
tempted, no. The man refused on principle and the nation saw
it very clearly. Eugene practised the moral correctness
espoused by his pal Derek. Any sympathy that may have been
felt by Makosi fans towards Anthony vanished into thin air
and his selfishness became abundantly and starkly clear.
Makosi fans voting in the final reckoning will remember this
episode and will never transfer their vote to Anthony when
Makosi leaves. My feeling was that it wasn't particularly
negative for Anthony, except maybe his taunting of Makosi
while eating his burger. However, it WAS deliberately set up
to be postive for Eugene. Endemol knew exactly what Eugene's
decision would be and how he would be torn and the reaction
it would provoke from him. That is the reason they called
him into the DR last.
Dynamic. It tells me the same thing that I have been
observing ever since Friday night. Anthony was a flakey
favourite and it was just a matter of time before a new
champion would emerge. Eugene just happened to be the one,
but now that it has happened, every event that fails to show
Anthony shining will attract more votes for Eugene. With 4
days left and no major tasks (Anthony blew his chances by
refusing the cage), he will have no new opportunities.
The final nail in Anthony’s coffin came when he committed
the cardinal sin of reality TV . He declared himself the
winner, 1 million per cent. Not only did Anthony make an
error of monumental proportions, made by several losing
housemates in the past, but he also reminded everyone of his
roots and clawed back the memory of the massive public
rejection of Max and Saskia. One million per cent he
demonstrated his arrogance and game plan. One million per
cent he answered all the questions as to why he has never
rejected Craig and integrated with the rest of the group.
One million per cent and he lost the favour of the remaining
floating voters who had not yet decided on their winner.
It became obvious last night, through a series of brief
clips in his favour, who the elect C4 champion of BB6 is,
and Eugene never put a foot wrong all night. In the hour
following last nights show, Eugene was polling 9-1 in his
favour for a short time, before resuming his 2 votes in
favour of Anthony’s 1. Public reaction to last nights show
will be swift as they dispense justice and reading many of
the forum comments indicates clearly that their vote goes
firmly to Eugene. No it was not a good show for him and as
the sunset sinks on Anthony, we all witnessed his once
winning position evaporate into the still night air.
