The favourite for this tournament is an unsurprising Tiger
Woods, who has won this three times. However, he is still
struggling for his form of old and is unconsistant, and so
looks worth taking on here today.
One player who stands out is Vijay Singh, who is
now back to a No.1 world ranking, and is a very reliable
proposition for this course.
He also offers some pretty good value at around 13/2.
His recent form figures are very impressive with a
3-2-2-1-5-21-1-3 since March, and this makes me very
optimistic for this one. In addition, Vijay has made the top
ten six times on this course (winner in 1997), and this
suggests that he is going to be the one to beat.
Kenny Perry is another player who stands out here at some
great odds of 25/1. A couple of weeks ago he demolished the
field at the Colonial, and if he can recapture that form, he
is going to be unstoppable! Even though he failed to make
the cut last week, that was on a course where historically,
he never performs. He will feel much more at home here.
Looking further down the field, Justin Rose makes
some appeal. He is improving all the time in the US, while
last season he was very impressive, claiming fourth place in
this tournament last year. He is worth a small punt at a
huge 80/1.
