Our attention this week turns to one of the biggest courses on the US Tour, the Lumber Classic at Mystic Rock. The favourites as one would expect are Vijay Singh at a short 5/1, but it seems he is  struggling slightly with ache and pains, so he can be overlooked.

The course comes in at nearly eight thousand yards, which is a good indication that the big hitters are the ones to get on this week. One such player is the American Charles Howell, who is a long looking 40/1. He has impressed us recently, finishing in fourth spot last time out in Boston. Previous to that, he has been there or there abouts, putting in an impressive fifth place finish at the International, and fifteenth at the US PGA.

Howell has played this course once before, and came in a disappointing 25th, but Im sure he can turn that form around, as he has been playing well in recent months, and at 40/1 he looks a cracking bet

Another golfer who impressed last time out was Jesper Parnevik, and he came in fifth at Mystic Rock two years ago. At a huge 66/1 he cannot be overlooked, and should be a nice each way pick.

If we look even further down the field, Frank Lickliter does look worth a speculative punt at a mighty 125/1. He does seem to perform at this course and he has finished second, tenth and ninth at this course and at that price could be worth a small dabble each way.

Recommendation: Charles Howell @ 40/1; Jesper Parnevik @ 66/1; Frank Lickliter @ 125/1
