The finale of day three is a chance for the amateur riders to get their silks on and battle it out for the Kim Muir Challenge Cup.
Historically, a wide open betting event and the bookmakers currently go 16/1 the field with Junior and Quinz heading the market. Junior was extremely classy over hurdles and even notched up a grade two success over the smaller obstacles and David Pipe's eight-year-old has taken to chasing in style and has put up some good efforts of late. He finished nine lengths behind the improving Midnight Chase in November at Cheltenham and if he could improve on that then must be thereabouts.
Quinz has been equally as progressive since making the transition to fences and racked up two comfortable wins at Exeter and Ascot. However, he came into the excellent RSA favourite Time For Rupert next time up and was beaten 17 lengths at the International Open meeting in December. Time For Rupert has been exceptional this year and this contest will be far easier than that and if he can reproduce his Ascot win must go close.
