Even though the England football team is touring the USA
this weekend, there are so many dropouts and the lack of
interest on this side of the Atlantic has meant that the big
betting game of the weekend is the playoff final between
Hartlepool and Sheffield Wednesday.
England do not
offer any value at 6/5 considering a strong US team whose
players find their trade in the European leagues, and a
patchy looking England outfit. The Americans could actually
be worth a speculative punt at a nice 9/5.
Instead our attentions turn to the Playoff final, and its
hard to not to fancy the Owls to win at the Millennium
Stadium. Even though Wednesday were humiliated just over a
month ago at Hartlepool 3-0, this is obviously a very
different game to consider. The Millenium Stadium will
contrast to that game, which was played in arctic
conditions, and this will suit Wednesdays style of play.
Wednesday will also know of Hartlepool's secret weapon, Adam
Boyd, and he will be a marked man. Harltepool are very
strong at home, but their away form is not impressive,
winning only once in their last eight aways, while the
Sheffield Wednesday took more points away from Hillsbrough
than at home. Get on the Owls at a nice 6/5.
