Man
City v Arsenal |
Arsenal
come into this game on the back of an excellent away win
at Manchester United, but will be disappointed at their
1-1 draw at home in the Champions league game against
Ajax midweek. Man City have won four out of their last
five home games and I think this will be an intimidating
atmosphere for Arsenal. Suprisingly, Man City have lost
five times at home already, while Arsenal have won five
times, drawn five times and lost three away from Highbury.
Arsenal have drawn their last two away games. Nicolas
Anelka will have alot to prove against his French counterparts
Henry & co, and I feel Man City should do enough for
a point in front of a selloput home crowd of 35000.

However, followers of this colunm were in clover two weeks ago
in Illinois and there is no doubt he has both the game and the
mentality to win this week.
American journeymen and unknowns have won this title in the past
two years, and because of that there is increasing pressure on
this country’s stars to perform. Of those, Lee Westwood
and Darren Clarke look best placed
.
Westwood won the Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews in 2003
and has showed enough flashes of form this term to suggest a big
win is around the corner.
Southampton, despite them resting some regular first teamers
should be too strong for managerless Mansfield.
Unbeaten in 8, though half of those games were drawn, they came
through the last round against a decent Southend side fairly
convincingly.
Though they've drawn the last four, there was a couple of
credible results. Ipswich and Derby away to name two.
Mansfield have won just one game in ten this season, though they
did see off Stoke in the last round, albeit on penalties.
Southampton's impressive youngsters should have enough to see
off poor Mansfield.
