This is
definitley the game of the day. Manchester United, having
drawn their previous game against lowly West Ham, will be
trying to close the gap on leaders Arsenal, while Newcastle,
confident after qualifying for the Champions league second
round, will be going to Old Trafford to win. Manchester
United will be without two influential players, David Beckham
and Rio Ferdinand, while for Newcastle Viana will be missing.
Manchester
United have won 3 out of their last 4 league games at home,
and have the best home defensive record in the league, having
conceded only 3 goals this season. Newcastle, have already
lost 4 times away this season, (taken 4 pointsd from 18)
and have conceded a massive 12 goals away, which is surprising
for a team in 6th place in the league. Having said that,
the Newcastle confidence will be at a all time high, after
qualifying for the second round of the Champions league
and beating Southampton 2-1 last week. Manchester United,
despite their excellent home record, will be nervous for
this game, as the Man Utd of old would have destroyed West
Ham last week. In the end they were lucky for a draw. I
feel that Newcastle may sneak an away win here.
Alan Shearer
has already scored 7 goals in the premiership this season,
and, together with the fit again Craig Bellamy, who was
sensational against Feyernoord, will do enough to beat the
Red Devils. Man Utd have injuries to key players, such as
long term Roy Keane, David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand. They
will be lacking a leader in midfield, and will be put under
pressure by Kieron Dyer and Craig Bellamy on the wings.
With Gary Neville having a nightmare of a season, by his
standards, Man Utd have amazingly not kept a clean sheet
in 5 games. The Toon Army will be singing. Take Newcastle
Average stake.
