Premiership Football: Man Utd v Liverpool

After the excitement of the Champions League midweek, its back to the Premiership, where there's some great looking matchups. The big game of the weekend is Liverpool's visit to Old Trafford to take on Man Utd.

Its difficult to separate these two teams at the moment, with Utd marginal favourites for the win at around 8/5.  Utd will be without Gabriel Heinze who was injured against Villarreal midweek, and long term victim Gary Neville.

The best bet for me however is to go with the Under 2.5 at around 10/11. When these two meet each other things are very tight and the goals are hard to come by. Last year Man Utd won both games by the scoreline of 1-0, and a similar result looks like being on the cards. Liverpool have started the season very strong defensively, conceding only once all season, and they have drawn both of their away games 0-0. This is going to be another tough, tight encounter, so the under looks on the cards.

Another great match up is the surprise package of Charlton, who have stormed to the summit of the league. They face a real tough encounter when they travel across London to face Chelsea. This will be a real test for Charlton, although it must be said that Chelsea have yet to fire upfront this season, and have taken their time breaking down opponents. For that reason, it may be be better to go with the draw/Chelsea double, at around 3/1.

Chelsea have not yet conceded this season, so of course the 1-0 and 2-0 correct score line also looks worth taking on. Or if you simply fancy a home win, Chelsea are available at 4/7.

Looking at the rest of the coupon, there are some tricky matches, but Sunderland do look a good bet at 11/8 to overcome a poor West Brom side.

Recommendation: United to bt Liverpool @ 8/5; United to win 1-0 @ 13/2, Sunderland to bt West Brom @ 11/8, Draw / Chelsea @ 3/1; Chelsea to win to nil @ 6/4
