Middlesbrough
v Everton |
Middlesbrough's
home record reads as played thirteen, won seven, drawn
five and lost once. they were boosted by a good away win
at Sunderland, a game whci hsaw their two new signings
from Derby, Riggott and Christie hit the back of the net.
Everton, have only won once in their last six away games
and I feel they will not get anything from this game.
Despite Everton being fifth in the league, Boro should
be boosted by the home debuts of their new players and
they should win at home. They are now out of the relegation
battle as of yet and will want to secure a win to relax
their fears. This will be a close encounter, but with
40,000 home fans Boro should sneak the win.

He just hasn’t been able to put four good rounds together.
However, I’m not going to desert him now as he is capable
of doing just that.
Clarke, meanwhile, was philosophical about his performance in
the Scottish Open, when he claimed he was struggling with his
game. If it clicks from Thursday he will surely improve on his
seventh place in 2000.
JOHN BEST is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to gain a
Competitive edge.
The Kent-based trainer recently took a scientific step when
investing heavily in a blood testing mase
“We had problems with a virus at the begizuij~ g of the year and
I was spending half my life driving to see the vet with blood
samples.
“I can now have it analysed within ten minutes and the Owners
are saving money.
“We have a big advantage because our horses will never run if
they aren’t right.”
Reflecting on the stable’s bad spell Best told me: “We had five
Winners between January and June, Which was a disaster
“But there have been ii successes in the last six weeks so we’ve
really turned the corner.”
Last year Best enjoyed a careerbest total of 49 winners,
combining Flat and Jumps.
He said: “If we can pick up problems quicker with the blood mate
we might be able to reach that score again but it’s going to be
a very tough task.
“It is Possible because there are a lot of unraced two year-olds
that coujd do a job.” revelation He won a nursery at
Lingfleldoff 84 and won off 90 at Leicester last week. It
appeared as though he had a bit more in hand than the 2lwinning
margin and Tom Queally reckoned the fairly fast ground wasn’t
really suiting him. He seems to find a bit more and should stay
6f but he is burning them all off over 5f at present We don’t
see a lot of his brilliance at home but he raises his game on
the racecourse He’s entered in the Group 3 Molecomb at Goodwood
and the 6f nursery on Saturday but the former might be a step
too far.
