Paddy Power Cue Card offer Cheltenham Free Bets
With the news filtering through on Sunday of Binocular’s absence from the Champion Hurdle, Tuesday’s blue riband event now appears to have lost some prestige. However, the eleven remaining runners still ooze class with Menorah (10/3 various) likely to go off favourite.
Last year’s Supreme Novice’s winner has been simply glorious this campaign with two fantastic wins in the Greatwood and International at Prestbury Park as Paddy Power bookmaker makes him favourite. The way he pulled away from the classy Cue Card in the latter of those races showed he has speed in abundance and it is hard to see past Philip Hobbs’ six-year-old.
Hurricane Fly (4/1 various) is the hot Irish contender who will visit the Festival for the first time. He has improved considerably this year beating Solwhit on a triumvirate of occasions, but there are question marks hanging over him on whether he will take to the undulations of the track.

Peddlers Cross (4/1 various) is another shining beacon in this event and after beating Binocular in the Fighting Fifth hurdle, stamped his mark on the top class hurdling sphere. Donald McCain’s charge was a winner at the Festival last year but he may lack the turn of foot Menorah has to offer.
Of the others, Dunguib (9/1 various) looks to be the each way value but Menorah could be bounding up the Cheltenham hill for the third time this year and will be crowned champion.
On a mouth-watering day the Supreme Novice’s kick-starts the four day jamboree and Cue Card will go off a short-price favourite after smashing on to the scene in last year’s Bumper. At 9/4 with some firms he is very short and with favourites being turned over at short odds in the curtain-raiser in recent years, it may be worth bypassing him. A decent each-way shout appears to be Marsh Warbler who at 25/1 could easily sneak into a place.
Medermit has been improving constantly throughout the season and Alan King’s raider should be too classy for his opponents in the Arkle and at 3/1 with Sporting Bet looks the bet of the day.
