NFL: Season Preview - Week Two
For all NFL fans, the new season could not have come
quicker enough, and we had our first round of games last
week. Surprisingly, nine favourites covered the spread
handicap.
Of course we are all looking to see if the New England
Patriots can get to their fourth Superbowl in only five
years. They have started the new season well, winning the
opening game 30-20 against the Oakland Raiders. QB Tom Brady
threw for an impressive 306 yards. The Patriots are the
short priced 5/1 favourites to go all the way, together with
Indianapolis Colts, who powered past the Baltimore Ravens on
the road in their first game 24-7.
Looking at this weekends games, Miami look good to turn
over the New York Jets. The Dolphins have been given a +6
handicap, and this looks good considering their 34-7 win
over Denver, while the Jets struggled to a 27-7 loss to the
Kansas City Chiefs. G. Frerotte completed 24 of 36 passes
for 275 yards for Miami, and with a six point head start,
this looks pretty generous if we take into account the week
one games.
The same can be said of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who
had an inspiring win over the Minnesota Vikings in week one,
winning 24-13 on the road.
The Bucs face the Buffalo Bill, who overcame a
disappointing Houston Team. Tampa Bay are playing at home,
and should be able to overcome the small -2.5 handicap that
is generally the spread. Put them together with the Dolphins
for a nice double. Of course, you can also do an accumulator
in the NFL, and Bet365 offer a 15% bonus on all parlays
(accumulators), so if your are going to bet, they come
highly recommended by us.
Recommendation: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5) @ 10/11;
Miami Dolphins (+6.0) @ 10/11
