Its a cracking Sunday of football as Tottenham take on the Premiership leaders Manchester City at the Etihad, while later in the day Arsenal face arch rivals Manchester United at the Emirates.

Ahead of facing Tottenham in a crucial Premier League game this weekend, Manchester City midfielder Adam Johnson has spoken about how tight he expects the game to be.

When the two teams met at the start of the season, City ran out 5-1 winners at White Hart Lane and even though Johnson believes this result ‘set the standard’ for the season ahead, he doesn’t think a repeat score line is likely.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s 1.30pm kick-off, he said: “That was a one-off. We humiliated them with some of the football we played. I don’t think many teams would have got close to us. The passing and movement was staggering.”

“But the fact is they have some top players, a squad packed with quality, and are playing much differently now.”

Johnson then went on to say that he is desperate to win the Premier League title and that he would be ‘devastated’ if they weren’t sitting at the top of the table come the end of the campaign.

The former Middlesbrough man continued: “I would be devastated if we didn’t win it. Most of lads are not thinking about it but we are three points clear, so from this position, it would be devastating not to do it.”

It would certainly be a boost to City’s chances if they picked up three points on Sunday afternoon. This would see them move eight points clear of Harry Redknapp’s men, leaving Manchester United as their immediate rivals for the title.

Tottenham will be aware of this of course and will want to get a positive result so they stay in touch with the top two. Revenge will also be on their mind after the hammering they received earlier in the season.

Looking at the team news for this one, Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor – on-loan from City – is unable to play, meaning Jermaine Defoe should start alongside Rafael Van Der Vaart in attack.

As for City, they could start with the same team that won 1-0 at Wigan last time out as they aim to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

This game gets underway at 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon, ahead of another big clash between Arsenal and Manchester United at 4pm.
