I was sick to the back teeth of joe public, when we were in
exactly the same position 12mths ago, telling me that "Dave
Jones was the only manager that had got us promoted" "should
be given more time" etc. etc. They didn't know, they weren't
watching us week in week out. Jones lost the plot big time.
I'm not saying he isn't a decent manager and I wish him all
the best at Cardiff, but he had to be sacked, and the club
has only moved in on direction since, and that is forwards,
in leaps and bounds.
I'm not sure whether its the same at Norwich, I don't follow
them closely enough to know, but I respect the opinion of
anyone who goes to watch their side regularly more than
"Armchair Joe" 100 times out of 100.
give him time and it will all come good. getting rid of
him will do absolutely no good as there is such a strong
bond at the club, especially with him and huckerby. ok we
haven't started too well at all, but no team is leaps and
bounds clear, if we string a few wins together between now
and december we'll be well up there with a late rattle could
even be challenging for auto promotion spots. very doubtful
but no means a disaster to date. I am not saying you are not
allowed an opinion, nor would i ever say that. is a probably
in a better position than us to know exactly what's
happening at norwich and his opinion should be respected
more than the man on the street who argues "where were you
before he arrived" which to be quite honest that is
irrelevant. There's no room for sentiment in football. It's
"where will you be in 18mths" thats the key question. If,
and I say if because by no means am I saying I agree,
Worthington is not the man to lead Norwich to another
promotion then he may have to go.
