Its coming down to the final weekend of games in the
premiership, and the dreaded drop into the Coca Cola
Championship is still hanging over four teams – the first time in
history there is still no club relegated going into the
final weekend of the season.
Even though all four teams are odds on for
relegation, instead of concentrating on the team most
likely to survive, a more interesting market is who will
finish bottom
'The team that's bottom at Christmas always gets relegated'
is a saying that will be undone this season, with a
rejuvanant West Brom playing some great stuff under Bryan
Robson. They secured an impressive 1-1 draw at Old Trafford
last week and they will fancy their chances at home to
Portsmouth, who have little to play for. Crystal
Palace will be hoping that Charlton's traditional
awful end of season form continues as they will be looking
to grab at least a point from their London rivals.
Southampton will be looking to take advantage of a Man Utd
side with one eye on the cup final, and the Red Devils have
not really impressed anyway recently, losing 3-1 at home to
Champions Chelsea midweek. The value bet, therefore, could be Norwich, who
travel to Craven Cottage to face an inspired Fulham team,
who will be looking to end their season with on a good note
with a confident home win.
