SIX NATIONS 2008 : Ireland

Live TV football tonight and a repeat of last season's play off semi final, and I expect the same side to come out on top.

Derby have not just lost some key players, they have also lost their manager. Phil Brown may have plenty of No2 experience but being the main man is a different kettle of fish.
He didn't get off to the best of starts, failing to beat one of the relegation favourites at home on Saturday.
Meanwhile, by all accounts Preston were very impressive down at Watford, where they came away with all three points.

They kept hold of most of the squad from last season, though Lewis could be a loss and I think their recent good form and home advantage will see them go top of the league tonight.

Todays bet: 4 pts Preston to beat Derby @ 10/11, generally available. A losing bet tonight, though PNE had chances to have the game wrapped up before Derby equalised just before HT.

Still in profit though, albeit only just. There's plenty of games tomorrow and there's a few games I'm going to take a closer look at but I have already got stuck into one game at extremely generous odds.
I'm not usually one for short priced favourites but 8/15 for Norwich to beat Crewe is a stand out price in my opinion.
Norwich were relegated because of their away form, but free bets at home, especially towards the end of the season they were decent.
It wasn't the best of results on Saturday, drawing with Coventry but maybe thats the kick up the butt they need and they have an immediate chance to put things right in front of their own fans.

Crewe on the other hand went 20+ games without a win. OK they've won their last two, one a must win against a side with nothing to play for and more recently on Saturday against Burnley, a side with one of the smallest squads in the division. And it took a very late goal.

Though you can't read too much into friendlies my team, Tranmere recently beat Crewe convincingly. Norwich are favourites to go up, Crewe favourites to go down. If this was a regular game halfway through the season I think Norwich would be priced nearer to the 2/5 mark. Its only the lack of form that makes the bookies price this game up as they have.
8/15 is a price I don't want to miss.

Bet: 10 pts Norwich to beat Crewe @ 8/15 with S.J.
