This should
be an excellent game. Southampton have an are unbeaten at
home this season, having won 3 and drawn 4. The only team
to concede less goals at home is Man Utd, and at the back
Southampton are excellent. Arsenal, who will be missing
Freddie Ljungberg, seem to got over thier recent slump in
form and are now playing like they were at the start of
the season.
As mentioned,
Southampton are unbeaten at home, and have won 2 out of
their last 3 at home. Striker James Beattie is on fire,
with 6 premiership goals this season. He has been assisted
by Brett Ormerod, who has chipped in with 3 goals. The thing
with Southampton, even though they have only conceded 4
goals at home, they have not kept a clean sheet in 5 games.
Arsenal have won 3 out of their last 4 games away. They
will be full of confidence, just like Southampton after
their big derby win, and will cause all kinds of problems
for the Saints. They have only lost once away and are now
sitting top of the league. I think Arsenal will have too
much for Southampton today. Thierry Henry is in excellent
form, having scored 7 goals already, while Sylvain Wiltord
has 8. Southampton wont roll over, coach Gordon Strachan
will have his team up for this one. They will be very difficult
to beat, but I fancy Arsenal to break down an excellent
Saints defence and get a win, but only just. Arsenal low
stake.
