Southampton
v Wolves |
On first
look , you would expect an easy home win for Southampton.
A look at some recent form, however offers a different
story. Despite an excellent season, Southampton have
recently started to look a little shaky. The Saints have
only lost twice at home all season, however these losses
came in their last two and three games. They have taken
10 points out of a possible 18 in their last six home
games. Wolverhampton of Divison One are pushing for promotion
and are sixth in the league. They are a confident team,
and they have some excellent away form. They have won
four out of their last six away games and look a dangerous
side. Wolves will be coming into this game with nothing
to lose, as Southampton are expected to win this game.
Boss Dave Jones is also going back to his former club
and he will have the Wolves players up for this. I can
expect a shock here, at odds of around 4.9, although again
I advise small stakes as anything can happen in the Cup!

Won a race at the end of last year at Kempton with Franj~je on
board and recently returned from a break. He seems to be coming
back to form and finished second at Windsor last week. ‘Planned
to run him at that venue on Monday and thought he had a decent
chance I’ll try to get him to run again as soon as Possible and
we are getting lots of positive signs from him.

Won a good prize at Newbury on Saturday and has been in great
form this year. His owner agreed with me and reckoned his price
was too big (33-1) and he put his money where his mouth was.
Although he had three duck eggs next to his name, there were
excuses for those defeats. I’m sure he’s going to continue in
good form and I don’t see why he won’t follow up, if the
handicapper isn’t too harsh. He is due to go up the ratings on
Tuesday and we’ll discuss his next target from there.
