The Premiership is now just round the corner and the
bookmakers have started releasing their odds. There are the
usual favourites, with Thierry Henry heading the marke at
9/4. Ruud Van Nistelrooy is not far behind at a nice 9/2,
although these prices do look a little short for my liking.
Looking further down the coupon we come to Didier Drogba
at 12/1, and this looks to be a great bet considering the
lack of value around.
Although foreign imports do tend to struggle for form to in their
first season, they do seem to find their feet in the next
and Drogba has a case for impressing.
Chelsea do begin their Premiership campaign away at Wigan, home to
Arsenal and West Brom, followed by Spurs away. This should
give Drogba plenty of scoring opportunities, and I would
expect him to be amongst the goals early season. This would
give us a chance to lay him off later on in the season as
cover. Drogba all the way for me.
