Tottenham
come into this match on the back of a 1-1 draw away to lowly
Birmingham, but with the news that first choice keeper Neil
Sullivan is back in training and that the club are interested
in signing Chilean and Juventus striker Marcelo Salas. West
Brom suprisingly beat high flyers Middlesbrough 1-0 at home,
and should be quite confident coming into this game.
While their
league form has been inconsistant this year, Tottenham do
have an excellent home record. They have taken 13 out of
a possible 18 at home and have only lost once. Teddy Sheringham
and Robbie Keane have started to work well together, with
Sheringham scoring in his last two matches. Despite an impressive
home win last week, West Brom are abysmal away from home,
and are languishing only four places off the bottom of the
league. They have amazingly already lost 6 times away and
have only taken 4 points out of a possible 18.They have
only scored 5 goals away all season, and they will find
it extremely difficult to add to that .
The centreback
partnership of Spurs Ben Thatcher and Dean Richards have
strengthend a once leaky defence, and together with new
signings Jamie Redknapp and Robbie Keane they look like
a team with the quality to push for a UEFA spot. West Brom,
however simply do not have the quality to compete with a
Spurs side so dominant at home. Their top scorer Jason Roberts
has only scored 3 goals this season. They will be confident,
howver after a good home win last week, and Spurs may initially
find them difficult to break down, but h only one win away
in the Premiership all season, you cannot look any further
than a Tottenham home win, and this will be another gloomy
defeat for West Brom. Home Win. High Stake
