NON-RUNNER NO BET ALL RACES AT CHELTENHAM

The Triumph has been an abysmal guide recently but I was impressed with Penzance and Faasel this year, and they could be the best of the home defence if progressing about 14lbs or so.

Harchibald will be the most talked of horse all winter I feel, and he is fantastic for the sport - "will he, wont he" get up the hill ? I think he will this year but he is the ante post each way certainty of the meeting at current prices. He travels too well to be beat by too many horses.

The real buzz for me though is waiting for the decent bumper horses to go novice hurdling, and the hurdlers going novice chasing, and wondering which horses are going to make your jaw drop.

Its nearly August, so in a couple of months we will see the return of the quality, I cant wait.

Surely the chinks in Harchibalds armour are well known now by all the jockeys and trainers alike. Therefore tactics could be used against the horse next year. IMO carbery did the best he could to hold the horse together this year. Although he travels well he doesn't seem to like 'being asked the queston' and it rarely happens at Cheltenham that a horse just 'travels well' to the line and wins. Without a doubt talented but I couldn't put my faith in him. I prefer the head down battler types
The reason Hardy Eustace doesn't win as many races as Istabraq is two-fold. Firstly, he isn't as good as Istabraq (Avro, i can't believe you rate Harchibald better in terms of ability than the great one!?!) and secondly and most importantly he comes from the Lance Armstrong school of training. In other words, he is trained with a view to being at a peak for one race a year and one race only. I'm a big fan of Brave Inca and believe he could easily win a Champion Hurdle if he jumped better but Hardy is a horse i wouldn't lay at any price. He is the most likely of the Champion and because of the way he is trained he's going to be a good price.
