International Football: Wales v England

Even though England come into this game on the back of a 4-1 away mauling in Copenhagen against Denmark, it must be said that they do lok way too strong for Welsh side that is beginning to rebuild after the retirements of many of their older players. I'm not sure how long the Welsh public can keep asking Ryan Giggs to turn it on, even Giggsy is starting to age. Everything is in England's favour - they are yet to lose a qualifier under the management of Sven Goran Ericksson, and Wales have not won in their last twelve games. In the first fixture, England came through 2-0 and won with relative ease.

However, if we look at the Wales team they look outclassed in most positions. With the loss of Craig Bellamy who is out injured, the attack does look rather one dimensional with only big John Hartson up front to hold the play up/. Defensively, alot will depend on West Ham centre back Danny Gabbidon, and he has aquitted himself well in the past. He will have to face Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen however, and so it could be a long afternoon for the Welsh side. England should win this one comfortably. The 2/5 does look a little short, but the England players have simply too much for the Welsh and Im sure the crowd will not play much of a part in this one. Rooney is a nice 7/2 to score first, but is outstanding value at EVENS to score anytime.
