West
Ham manager Glenn Roeder comes into this game under immense
pressure, having the worst home record in the league, taking
only 2 points from a possible 21, and having conceded the
most goals than any other team (12). Man Utd, on the other
hand, will be trying to forget their disastrous away trip
to Man City. A good win in midweek against Bayer Leverkusen
will have restored some pride.
For
some unknown reason I sense a West Ham win today. The Hammers
showed immense spirit to come back to 3-4 last week after
losing 1-4 at halftime. Players like Trevor Sinclair and
Paulo Di Canio have said in midweek how they are committed
for the West Ham cause, and with Roeder under pressure,
the players will be committed to every tackle. Man Utd,
on the other hand, will be expected to win easily, and I
think this can play on their minds. They are not the Man
Utd of old and were awful last week, and before that they
could only draw against an unlucky Fulham side 1-1. Infact,
they have only won once away all season. Di Canio is finding
some of his old magic and I feel he may upset Alex Ferguson
and his players.
Expect a hard game but West Ham to surprise everyone and
sneak a win. Medium stake
