Betfair Super Saturday Betting

The Game Spirit Chase, run at Newbury on what is now known as Betfair Super Saturday in the middle of February, is a Grade Two race for the countrys top two mile chasers, as here at we bring you all the latest betting offers and free bets available on the race.

The race is regarded as a key pointer to the Arkle Chase and Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and is run in the third week of February.

Horses such as Viking Flagship, Azertyuiop and Master Minded all won at Newbury before going on to score at the Festival in the champion two-mile event.

The 2012 renewal, which was put back to two weeks later due to exceptionally cold weather in the south of England, was won in absolute epic style by the Nicky Henderson-trained Sprinter Sacre, who sauntered clear of a high-class field in very taking fashion.

Henderson's chaser has been quoted by Henderson as one of the best he's ever trained, and the way he performed last season in the Game Spirit Chase, it's hard to argue.

The size, scope and nimbleness of the horse always had him earmarked for a career over fences after a season over hurdles and he's likely to return to the Cheltenham Festival next season, but either in the Champion Chase or maybe even the Gold Cup if Henderson is feeling brave enough.

Such is the excitement surrounding the two-mile chase division in 2013; it is very likely that the Game Spirit Chase is set to be a cracking renewal. Sprinter Sacre, baring no dramatic loss in ability or an injury, should be back to defend his crown and should be a lot stronger this year after winning it as a novice last year.

Finians Rainbow may also take his chance for Henderson, whilst Paul Nicholls best hope lies with classy youngster Sanctuaire, who should be good enough to throw a challenge down to Sprinter Sacre this season.

It should be a cracker of a race, with some top jockeys involved, make sure you get involved with and pick up your own horse racing bets on the card.
